Associate Therapist (Masters-level, pre-licensed)

Part-time
Salary: Other
Application Deadline: N/A
Health Services

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Associate Therapist will provide individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy to clients experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and coordinating care with other providers and community resources. The therapist will engage in regular case consultations, contribute to a collaborative team culture, and participate in ongoing professional development and weekly clinical supervision toward independent licensure.

This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Middleboro, MA, with a combination of in-person sessions at the practice and some work-from-home flexibility for telehealth services and documentation.

SCHEDULING AND HOURS REQUIREMENTS

  • Weekly Target: Our part-time requirement is 15 clinical hours per week
  • Caseload Buffer: Candidates must have availability to schedule 20 clients per week to account for expected client cancellations and maintain steady clinical hours.
  • Shift Times: Two evenings (or a combination of one evening and weekend availability) are required to meet client needs.
  • Required Meetings: Attendance is required at our bi-weekly team clinical consultation meetings, held every other Tuesday at 1:00 PM (fully compensated at our administrative rate).
  • Transition to full-time is a possibility based on meeting weekly expectations and the needs of the practice.

OUR WORK CULTURE: MISSION AND DRIVE

We are a deeply values-based, anti-racist, and social justice-oriented practice. We believe in providing high-quality, accessible care to our community by accepting MassHealth and Medicare. Doing this meaningful work within an outpatient fee-for-service model requires an intentional balance of mission and professional drive. Fee-for-service can be unpredictable due to client cancellations. We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about systemic equity, but who also possesses the practical "hustle," organizational skills, and proactivity required to actively manage, protect, and sustain their clinical caseload. If you are a high-ownership therapist who thrives on autonomy and wants to build a busy, impactful practice without administrative red tape, you will be a perfect fit here.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience (Preferred): One (1) year of post-Master's clinical experience is preferred.
  • Education and Licensure: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related mental health field. Must be on track for independent licensure in Massachusetts. Note for Social Workers: An active Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) credential is required to practice in this setting.
  • Specialized Training (Strongly Preferred): Formal training and experience in EMDR, ACT, ERP, and/or Couples Therapy.
  • Clinical Skills: Strong foundation in mental health assessment, treatment planning, and intervention, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of clinical presentations.
  • Modality Experience: Experience providing individual therapy, a willingness to work with children, adolescents, and older adults, and experience in Family Therapy and systemic approaches to address relationship and family dynamics.
  • Affirming Care: Demonstrated competence in trauma-informed care, LGBTQIA+ affirming practice, and culturally responsive treatment.
  • Communication and Tech: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, including proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) to maintain clear and compliant clinical records.
  • Environment Match: Comfort working in a hybrid model (managing both in-person and telehealth sessions) and an understanding of how to manage daily schedules in an outpatient fee-for-service environment. Prior experience in outpatient community or private practice settings is preferred.
